Galileo Galilei was born on the 15th of February 1564.
He was an Italian astronomer, mathematician, physicist and philosopher. He is most famous for discovering sunspots, improving the telescope, discovering four of Jupiter’s moons and confirming the phases of Venus.

On Monday (27-2-2012) we went to the Lifetime Labs, on a school trip. The labs are in Cork.
Our tour guide was called Rebecca. We were doing a maths workshop so we had to go in pairs. I went with Liam.

5th and 6th class went to The Lifetime Lab at the Old Waterworks in Cork City today as part of Engineers' Week.
The focus of the workshop was maths and the pupils took part in station games which were Maths related.
